The food production program at ASDC is one of the society’s developmental and income generating programs. The program trains a number of deaf and hard of hearing persons in the fundamentals of culinary arts and proper nutrition to equip them with the proper skills needed to enter the workforce. In the year 2012 ASDC opened the first restaurant of its kind in the Palestinian territories, a restaurant run by deaf persons. 14 deaf youth are employed in the restaurant and an additional 25 are employed in food large quantity production.
Aim of the program: it is through this program that ASDC aims to promote the integration of deaf persons in society and in the workplace by providing them with the necessary skills and experience needed to work side by side with the hearing community.
